Originating from the cracked and unknown walls of the village of Warli, the Warli folk Art of imagination, beliefs, and customs, spontaneously expressed in unpretentious monochromatic style has traveled across borders and reached connoisseurs and art collectors. In spite of being so close to Mumbai, with Warli tribe inhabiting the Thane and Nashik areas of Maharashtra, this art has maintained its rustic appeal and has become a globally recognized and appreciated the art form.
